AI is changing what’s possible for people working in health and performance.
You no longer need to be a developer to build useful software, a designer to create professional content or a large organisation to develop sophisticated digital workflows.
But knowing which tools exist is different from knowing how to put them to work.
That’s where I can help.
I’m Dr Alfie Gordon, an applied physiologist and marketer with a PhD in applied physiology, an MSc in Sport Nutrition and experience spanning academic research, elite sport, health technology and lifecycle marketing.
I combine scientific understanding with hands-on experience in content, websites, AI tools and automation.
Through one-to-one mentorship, I’ll help you develop the knowledge, practical skills and confidence to make AI a useful part of how you work.
What does AI-native actually mean?
Becoming AI-native isn’t about asking ChatGPT more questions.
It’s about understanding how to use AI throughout your work, identifying opportunities to improve existing processes and developing the skills to build things that previously required specialist technical knowledge.
Think with AI
Research, evaluate evidence, explore ideas, analyse information and solve problems more effectively.
Create with AI
Develop content, websites, presentations, educational resources, marketing materials and scientific communications.
Build with AI
Create automations, digital tools, research workflows and practical systems that save time and extend your capabilities.
Throughout, the emphasis is on critical thinking, scientific accuracy and independent judgement.
What we can work on.
| Area | What it can involve |
|---|---|
| Online nutrition coaching | Build your coaching website, develop your marketing, create client onboarding journeys, automate administration and improve how you deliver your service. |
| Academic research and PhD work | Explore AI-assisted literature discovery, research organisation, statistical coding, academic writing workflows and scientific communication while maintaining academic integrity. |
| Content and personal branding | Develop LinkedIn content, newsletters, educational resources, videos and a repeatable content production process. |
| Career development | Improve how you present your experience, explore opportunities, build a portfolio and develop technical skills that make you more effective professionally. |
| Business and product development | Validate ideas, create landing pages, prototype digital products, build calculators and develop customer journeys. |
| Research and industry intelligence | Set up monitoring systems, discover relevant publications, track developments and turn information into useful insights. |
These are examples, not a fixed curriculum. We focus on whatever matters most to you.
A bit about my background.
I completed an MSc in Sport Nutrition at Liverpool John Moores University, graduating with Distinction, followed by a PhD in applied physiology at Edinburgh Napier University, where my doctoral research involved longitudinal studies, human physiology testing, statistical analysis and scientific publication.
My experience includes research work with Science in Sport and commercial work at Hexis, across product, marketing and lifecycle communications in the performance technology industry.
Alongside the science, I’ve developed experience in content strategy, lifecycle marketing, websites and digital implementation, and I co-founded PN—INSIDER, a newsletter for performance nutrition professionals.
Day to day, I work hands-on with tools including ChatGPT, Claude, Lovable, Make, MailerLite and a range of research tools — building content, customer journeys, workflows and digital products with them.
How one-to-one mentorship works.
This is not a course, group coaching programme or generic AI training.
It’s a personal mentorship shaped around your goals and the work you’re doing.
You might arrive with a specific project, a process you want to improve or an idea you haven’t figured out how to build.
We’ll work through the problem together, explore relevant tools, develop practical solutions and build your confidence using them independently.
You work directly with me, not a group of other members.
Support is provided through a private one-to-one Slack conversation, with feedback, practical guidance and relevant resources.
The mentorship focuses on teaching, advising and helping you develop your own capabilities rather than delivering unlimited done-for-you work.
