Dear Performance Nutrition Leaders,

This week: Optimum Nutrition Insiders, the latest news, and a cortisol-reducing drink used in professional sports teams.

🧠 ON THE GROUND

Optimum Nutrition hosted a panel series called "The Optimum Insiders" at the McLaren Technology Centre — live discussions with researchers covering protein, creatine, and female performance.

The event was hosted by Danny Lennon of Sigma Nutrition Radio, with over 100 attendees including KOLs, media, and content creators.

The full videos are available on their website and YouTube channel.

Topics include:

… and much more!

Professor Stu Phillips features prominently. The content is consumer-facing but grounded in research — the kind of thing worth pointing clients toward when they ask about protein quality or creatine safety.

💡PERFORMANCE TECH

KA-EX is a Swiss-developed recovery supplement positioning itself as a cortisol stress reducer.

The product was founded in 2017 by Pedro Schmidt, a graduate of the pharmaceutical sciences program at ETH Zurich.

Originally developed for hangover recovery — the name comes from the German "Kater" (hangover) and the Latin "Ex" (out) — before pivoting to sports nutrition after consumers started using it for exercise recovery.

The formula combines phosphatidylserine (100mg), amino acids including L-glutamine (2,500mg), electrolytes, B-vitamins, and functional sugars.

Informed Sport certified, vegan, caffeine-free.

Here are some studies on phosphatidylserine if you want to dig deeper:
